Language is made of words, which are put together to form phrases and clauses, which are in turn put together to form sentences.

Grammar is the body of language conventions that set the order and types of words to be used in phrases, clauses and sentences. Grammar ‘rules’ can be a cause of controversy and confusion for writers and editors.
