Science

Science is the overarching term for the study of the structure and behaviour of the natural and physical worlds using a methodology based on evidence. It includes natural sciences such as life sciences and physics, formal sciences such as mathematics, and applied sciences such as medicine.

Science content is most frequently written by scientists for other scientists (eg in research papers or academic posters). But science writing also covers a wealth of other writings about science, such as:

  • news articles about scientific subjects
  • public brochures about scientific topics such as health care
  • reports or briefs to decision makers or managers
  • guidelines about technical processes
  • websites about scientific topics or organisations.
